Bank Connection Data (Founders Plan)

When you connect your bank account via Plaid:

• We receive read-only access to your transaction data
• Plaid handles the bank connection securely
• We do not store your bank login credentials
• We receive transaction information daily for auto-import

How We Use Your Information

We use your data only to:

• Provide and maintain the Creator Budget service
• Process transactions and match pipeline items automatically
• Calculate budget remainders and spending patterns
• Generate dashboard views and financial insights
• Send essential account notifications (payment issues, security alerts)
• Improve app functionality based on feature usage patterns
• Provide customer support when you contact us

That's it. We don't use your data for advertising, AI training, research, or any purpose beyond making Creator Budget work for you.

Data Storage and Security

• All data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS
• Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms and never stored in plain text
• Financial data is stored on Supabase's secure infrastructure
• Application is hosted on Vercel's secure platform
• Database access is restricted and logged
• Bank connection data is processed through Plaid's secure, encrypted infrastructure
• We implement regular security updates and monitoring

Third-Party Services

We use a minimal number of third-party services to operate Creator Budget:

Plaid (Founders Plan only)

• Securely handles bank account connections
• Provides read-only transaction data
• Your bank credentials are never sent to us

Stripe

• Processes subscription payments securely
• We do not store your credit card information

These services are bound by their own privacy policies and security standards. We choose providers that prioritize data protection.

Your Rights

You have complete control over your data:

• Access: View all your personal data at any time
• Export: Download all your data in CSV format whenever you want
• Delete: Permanently delete your account and all associated data
• Update: Change your email, profile information, and settings
• Disconnect: Remove your bank account connection at any time
• Opt out: Unsubscribe from non-essential communications

Content Mode

Content Mode is a display feature that lets you hide sensitive financial information when sharing your screen or creating videos. When enabled:

• You choose which data elements to hide (amounts, transaction details, etc.)
• This only affects what's displayed on your screen
• Your actual data remains unchanged and fully accessible when Content Mode is disabled
• No data is deleted or modified

Data Retention and Deletion

While Your Account is Active:

We retain your data for as long as your account exists so you can access your financial history and track spending patterns over time.

Account Deletion:

To delete your account:

1. Go to Settings in the app
2. Select "Delete Account"
3. Confirm deletion

When you delete your account, we permanently remove:

• All transaction data
• Budget information and categories
• Income sources and pipeline items
• Goals and subscription tracking
• Profile information and settings
• Bank connections

Deletion is immediate and irreversible. We cannot recover your data after deletion.

We may retain limited information as required by law (such as transaction records for tax compliance or fraud prevention) for up to 7 years. This retained data is not accessible through the app and is stored securely.

Children's Privacy

Creator Budget is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, we will delete it immediately.

International Users

Creator Budget is operated from Colorado, United States. If you access the service from outside the United States, your data will be transferred to and stored in the United States. By using Creator Budget, you consent to this transfer.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. When we make changes:

• We'll update the "Last Updated" date at the top
• We'll post the new policy on this page
• For material changes, we'll notify you via email

Your continued use of Creator Budget after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

California Privacy Rights

If you're a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

• Right to know what personal information we collect
• Right to delete your personal information
• Right to opt-out of the sale of personal information (note: we don't sell data)
